Great scientists

This list of great scientists includes physicists, biologists, chemists, archeologists,
geologists, primatologists, geneticists, astronomers, psychologists, sociologists,
anthropologists. Today, scientists are specialized, for example, someone might
be an evolutionary biologist or a theoretical physicist. Scientists such as Newton
and Aristotle worked in many fields of science (many of which only relatively
recently have been assigned names), as well as other areas of study. Aristotle
and Empedocles (and many others) could be considered philosophers as well.
